about

This is some of the music I composed for various Off-Broadway musical theatre productions in NYC. One song, "Patience, Near Butterfly," is a track I wrote for a musical about Mary Shelley I was going to call The Monster's Midwife. I wrote a bunch of songs for it, but it never quite got to fruition (maybe one day. However, the song did end up in a short film called Borderlainers, so that happened!

Many of these songs were demos I recorded so that actors could learn the songs to sing on stage. Still others were recorded as instrumentals to be played during performances as part of the underscore. Needless to say, they're all in demo mode. IN fact, I'm not sure if any of these are the "final" versions that were played for the performances. But the gist of all the music and tunes is there.

The plays in question were all staged at Urban Stages on W. 30th Street in Manhattan between 2003 and 2008. There are too many people involved with the actual productions to list here (though, I will say Stanton Wood wrote a few of the plays and his wife Lori Ann Laster wrote most of the lyrics to the Luxury Them Song (I think I added a line or two to that one), For the curious, I believe all that cast and crew info is available on Urban Stages' website.

The plays are ...

Ah, My Dear Anderson
Blue Bird
The Magical Forest of Baba Yaga

I believe I did a few songs for their Snow Queen and also Seven Rabbits on a Pole, but those songs seem to be lost to the mists of time, unfortunately. Or let's just say, I don't have copies of them. Someone else out there might.

I also did some music with and for my good friend Luke DeLalio for his production of The Good Soul of Setzuan. If I can locate a version of that, I'll put it up here. I believe he also used a song of mine, Idle King, in one of his theatre productions. If I locate those,I'll throw them up here, too.

Crush Limbo North Bergen, New Jersey

Crush Limbo is the stage name of NY-NJ-based musician Colm Clark.

It's bedroom pop meets Tin Pan Alley -- a world where glam gets it on with André Popp, teasing midlife symphonies from tear-shaped guordalins.

And in the grand tradition of Sondheim, Wonder, Bowie, and the Beatles — melody is key, baby, and tunes are where it's at.
